[Notice] How We Store Your Photos & Videos
How Photos & Videos Are Stored in Babyfolio — As of April 2026
01 Overview
Photos and videos uploaded to Babyfolio are automatically optimized so every family member can view them quickly, regardless of their device or connection.
💡 Deleting a file from Babyfolio does not delete the original from your device. Babyfolio stores an app-optimized version, not the original file. Even if you delete the photo from your phone, it will remain in Babyfolio.

02 Why Upload Errors Happen
Q. It says the app failed while preparing my photo.
This happens when the app runs into a problem while optimizing your photo or video before uploading. It's not an issue with the photo itself — it's an internal processing error.
→ Fully close the app, reopen it, and try again. If the problem persists, please send the error log to our development team.
Q. It says it couldn't access my photo.
This usually happens when a photo is still downloading from iCloud, or when your device is running low on storage.
→ Check that the photo opens normally in your Photos app. If it's still downloading from iCloud, wait for it to finish and try again. You can also check your storage at Settings → General → iPhone Storage.
Q. It says the upload failed due to a lost connection.
This happens when your internet connection becomes unstable or drops during an upload.
→ Try switching between Wi-Fi and mobile data (5G/4G), or move to a location with a stronger connection and try again.
Q. It says the server is busy.
This means there's a temporary issue on Babyfolio's end. It's not a problem with your photo or device.
→ Wait a moment and try again. If it keeps happening, please send the error log to our development team.
Q. It says an unexpected error occurred.
This means the cause couldn't be identified.
→ Fully close the app, reopen it, and try again. If the issue continues, please send the error log to our team and we'll look into it.
Q. What happens when I send a log?
The error timestamp, device information, and app version are automatically collected and sent to our development team. We aim to fix bugs within one month. If you'd like a direct response, please contact us via My Page → Help Center.
03 More FAQs
Q. Is my original file uploaded as-is?
Your original file stays on your device untouched. What gets uploaded to Babyfolio is an app-optimized version. Photos are converted to JPG and videos to MP4, so formats like HEIC, PNG, and MOV are all standardized.
Q. How much is it compressed? Will I notice a quality difference?
Photos are saved at a quality suitable for viewing, printing, and sharing on social media. Videos are stored at 720p–1080p, which is more than enough for everyday viewing. Unless you're doing professional editing or displaying on a large screen, the difference is unlikely to be noticeable.
Q. My photo looks sharp on my phone, but blurry on my family member's phone.
This is due to caching. If your device still has the original file, it displays that version — so you see full quality. Your family members are viewing the server-stored version, which may look slightly different depending on the original file quality and how it was compressed.
Q. My video gets cut off at 60 seconds. Can I upload longer videos?
The free plan supports uploads up to 60 seconds. With a Family plan subscription, you can upload videos up to 10 minutes (600 seconds). You can subscribe via My Page → Subscription.
